Choose the working arrangement
In dedicated staffing, a person contributes to your team’s work while you set priorities and review the output. A managed outsourcing arrangement gives a provider responsibility for an agreed function or deliverable. The terms matter more than the label: ask who supervises the work, owns the process and resolves problems.

Turn a workload into a role
Write down tasks that repeat, how often they occur and the systems involved. Choose one manager and identify decisions that need approval. A brief that combines finance and administration should still explain the experience and review each responsibility requires.
Compare example role responsibilitiesCompare providers on the same questions
- Who is the employing entity, and what responsibilities does each party accept?
- How are experience and communication assessed for this particular role?
- Who supplies equipment, access, training and day-to-day supervision?
- What do the fees include, and what happens when hours or responsibilities change?
- How are feedback, absence and unresolved issues handled?
Prepare evidence for recruitment
Use a representative task or workflow with confidential information removed. Explain what an acceptable result looks like and the questions a person should raise. Discuss relevant qualifications and systems experience with the recruiter; do not assume them from a title.
Check readiness before the first day
Assign a manager, document access requirements and prepare the first week’s work. Agree the communication rhythm and how the person can get help. Use the onboarding checklist and plan the full cost before finalising the arrangement.
